Hardware Installation

21 June 2015
Hello everyone,

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s and best wishes for the year to come. 🙂

It is a good idea to have a Locksmith install your hardware. In the past we have been called in to fix many problems due to the inexperience of whoever did the installation. For instance a carpenter who didn’t have the right screws so filled in the hole with wood filler and toothpicks then used a wood screw where it was not appropriate to do so. We have seen locks installed upside down and even locks that have been forced in because the installer didn’t use the cut out sheet to drill the right sized hole for the hardware.

If doing it yourself you could possibly void any warranty the product may have if it is installed incorrectly. It may seem easier to just do it yourself but in the long run it can be much cheaper and safer to use a qualified Locksmith to do the installation.

Safety of anyone entering or leaving a room is always paramount. Please note that if you force hardware or install it incorrectly it could fail at an inopportune moment leaving the door jammed. This could then be a safety hazard.

Again Happy Fathers Day and have a great day.
